Collision near Minyip sends bus driver to The Alfred
A school bus driver has been flown to Melbourne following a collision with a semi-trailer just outside of Minyip on Thursday, July 24.

The 56-year-old woman was transported to The Alfred Hospital by helicopter with possible head and internal injuries.
Three children and the truck driver were transported to Grampians Health in Horsham by road ambulance.
Horsham Police Acting Inspector Cameron Ross said the mini bus was travelling to Warracknabeal when it collided with the semi trailer on a sweeping bend at 8.45am.
“The minivan is a local school pickup for the special development school,” Act Insp Ross said.
“It was on its bus route… doing a last pick up and travelling to the school.”
He praised the professionalism of emergency workers throughout the morning.
“As you can imagine, it was quite a chaotic scene,” Act Insp Ross said.
“The children… There were only three inside the bus at the time, which we're thankful.
“The SES, CFA, AV (Ambulance Victoria) were able to extract the [bus driver] from the vehicle.”
Act Isp Ross said the truck driver was assisting police with their enquiries.
He said the actual cause of the collision was still under investigation; however, he believed speed was a factor.
“It's about driving to the conditions if you're unsure of the surroundings of the roads,” he said
“Take your time. Slow down, take all due care on the roads … have a bit of respect for other road users as well.”
The road was closed for several hours as emergency services cleaned up about 1000 litres of fuel on the road before transferring the hay from the semi-trailer.
