Run by Rebecca McIntyre, the tournament honours her father, Gary Bird, a former Horsham mayor who consistently worked to provide greater inclusion for people with disabilities.

The day was focused on participation and allowing all basketballers a chance to thrive on the court, with participants playing numerous games throughout the day.

The day concluded with a grand final between Horsham and Bacchus Marsh, with Bacchus Marsh repeating their success from last year to take home the Gary Bird Shield.
